IMDB: The Fall Guy (2024) Starring: Emily Blunt, Ryan Gosling
I don’t often watch movies the year they are released because I watch them on platforms that are way slower than the theatre releases. I wanted to check some of last year’s best movies so I searched for “best movies 2024” and landed on this IMDB user’s list.
One of the movies on the list was Fall Guy which I had heard good about many times but hadn’t come across it.
When a movie stars amazing Emily Blunt and a Hollywood top-3 Ryan (we all know Ryan Reynolds is the number one), it can’t be bad. Or so I thought. And quite frankly, Fall Guy is not a bad movie. But it’s less good than I imagined given its stellar cast and praise I had heard - including on being on this person’s top list.
I feel like the movie found its groove within the last 30 minutes or so. I started to get into it right when it was on its last stretches. The dynamics between the characters and their roles in both the in-universe movie production and the intercharacter relationships really bloomed at the end but I’m not happy it took so long to get there.
