1000 Blank White Cards (1KBWC) is a card game where all the cards and rules are created by the players as the games are being played.
To create the first game, all you need is a stack of index cards or blank playing cards and pens. Distribute the empty cards to people and invite them to draw and write on them to design cards. On subsequent play sessions, old cards are included so the game always evolves.
On each turn, a player draws a card and plays a card – unless some of the played cards have changed the rules. Everything else is up to the players who create the cards.
It’s a real fun game when played with a group of people who are in the right mindset: it’s a great exercise in improvisation, game design and creating cards that make the game more fun for everyone.
My own set currently includes around 50+ cards and I haven’t gotten a group together since the pandemic started but I hope to introduce the game to a new group once a proper situation arises.
