In The Confident Mind, Dr. Zinsser provides an exercise called Your Top Ten.
In it, he asks the reader to think of their chosen field (sport, profession, hobby, whatever you wanna feel more confident about) and list the best 10 experiences and successes you’ve had in your life.
- Get a blank paper
- Write “My Top Ten” on the top
- Attach a photo of you doing the thing
- List out 10 accomplishments you’ve had
The accomplishments don’t have to be on the level of world championships or Nobel prizes but your life’s best 10 achievements.
Then put the poster on a wall where you’ll see it often and be reminded of your progress.
