After a wonderful Mega Evolutions prerelease with four exciting decks, Phantasmal Flames’ prerelease was such a disappointment. The decks were not balanced against each other at all: the psychic deck featuring Alcremie and Zacian was fast and took care of the Ceruledge deck due to sheer speed and perfect damage. But then against the fghting deck with Flygon, it hit 10dmg too little and was KOd in return, making it too slow to counter.

Especially without hand disruption and gusting, the games were not very interesting on their base form. The additions from the boosters could turn the matchups around though: I lost 2-0 to Ceruledge thanks to a Mega Lopunny ex that I would 3-hit while it 1-hit everything on my board. When playing for 4 prizes, it’s not a difficult math to see how that ends up.

My deck on Nov 9th 2025 prerelease

A Pokemon TCG deck, list below

6 Milcery PFL 43
5 Alcremie PFL 44
3 Zacian PFL 45
1 Mimikyu PFL 42
1 Aipom PFL 78
1 Ambipom PFL 79
3 Lillie's Determination MEG 109
1 Iri's Fighting Spirit JTG 149
2 Brock's Scouting JTG 146
2 Hilda WHT 84
2 Drayton SSP 174
1 Switch MEG 130
2 Wonderous Patch PFL 94
2 Ultra Ball MEG 131
8 Basic {P} Energy

I got the Zacian kit and pulled some extra Milcerys and Alcremie so I could play a 6-5 line of an extremely efficient 1-energy attacker in a deck that wants to have a full bench.

I also added a 1-1 Ambipom line because I thought maybe a 3-energy, snipe 60 to two opponent’s Pokémon could be handy but this was too fast deck and the opponents’ decks didn’t really have small bench sitters either so I never evolved into it.

I won 2-0 against Ceruledge, lost 2-0 against Ceruledge with Mega Lopunny ex and lost 2-0 against Flygon.
