I love non-Hollywood scifi. Sometimes I feel like the Hollywood scifi has settled into its tracks a long time ago but movies like UFO Sweden and The Black Hole from Europe really shake up the genre and reimagine the fun you can have with scifi.
You can only imagine my excitement when I woke up on a day-off Friday morning to see Must auk as the newest addition to the local broadcaster’s streaming service.
The contrast between the struggles of making the ends meet in everyday Estonian life and being experimented on by Andromedan aliens brings this story to life in a wonderful way. Movies like this proves that you can have a fun and interesting scifi story without American soldiers going into every encounter guns blazing.
The alien design in this movie is top notch. I don’t know if these are CGI or costumes but the main alien looks fantastic and intriguing.
